have been organizations associated with Annandale United Methodist Church. In 1940 “A Group of Citizens” chaired by Raymond Lynch Sponsored the Troop. In 1942 the Annandale Home Demonstration Club under the presidency of Eleanor Morrow sponsored the Troop. In 1944 both the Methodist Church and the Baptist Church sponsored Troop 150. The Annandale United Methodist Men have been the predominate chartering partner over the years. At the 65th Anniversary John Webb, one the charter scouts, challenged the Troop to establish a Memorial Fund in memory of J. Walter Mercer. The interest from such fund to be used to support leadership development of deserving Scouts through an outdoor, mountain top, high adventure experience on a annual basis. Through additional support of other charter scouts, that fund currently stands at over $30,000. To add your contribution to this fund for support of Scouting ideals, make checks payable to Troop 150 and mail them to Troop 150, c/o Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale, Virginia 22003.
